NFL Teams: Best Odds to Win Super Bowl 50

The further we get into the 2015 NFL season, the more we realize that there are only a handful of teams with legitimate chances to hoist the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the year. As we get set to begin Week 15 of the 2015 season, if you wish to better your football acumen, we hope you enjoy this look at the five teams with the best chances of winning Super Bowl 50.

5. Pittsburgh Steelers

Odds: 13-2

NFL Teams

After taking down the division-leading Cincinnati Bengals 33-20 in their Week 14 clash, the Pittsburgh Steelers have started to look like one of the scariest teams in the NFL. With quarterback Ben Roethlisberger performing at a high level and wide receiver Antonio Brown continuing to make opposing secondaries look foolish, if the Steelers manage to sneak into the postseason, this is a team that no one in the league should want to face.

4. Seattle Seahawks

Odds: 6-1

NFL Teams

By leading the Seahawks to a 35-6 throttling of the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14, not only has No. 3 helped Seattle win four consecutive contests, but he’s also put together one of the best four-game stretches in NFL history. It would seem that he and the rest of Seahawks are not quite ready to relinquish their spot at the top of the NFC. The juggernaut in Seattle is officially back.

3. Arizona Cardinals

Odds: 5-1

NFL Teams

Like the Honey Badger pictured above, the Arizona Cardinals take what they want. And if you don’t believe us, just ask the Minnesota Vikings, who fell to Bruce Arians’ club 23-20 in their Week 14 showdown. The Seattle Seahawks may have come to life these past couple of weeks, but the Cardinals are still sitting pretty at the top of the NFC West standings with an 11-2 record. This group has already secured a spot in the postseason. If the Cardinals keep doing what they’re doing, a division title will soon follow.

2. Carolina Panthers

Odds: 9-2

NFL Teams

Every week we wonder if this is the game that the Carolina Panthers finally come back down to earth, and each time Cam Newton steps onto the field and reminds us that Superman can fly. Thanks to the 265 yards in the air and three passing touchdowns from their Man of Steel, the Panthers crushed the Atlanta Falcons 38-0 and improved their record to a perfect 13-0 on the season. We’re running out of excuses as to why the Carolina Panthers can’t be the last ones standing at the year’s end. Perhaps it’s time we accept the fact that this club is simply not meant to be grounded.

1. New England Patriots

Odds: 18-5

NFL Teams

By defeating the Houston Texans 27-6, the New England Patriots ended a two-game skid, improved their record to 11-2, and regained their spot at the head of the AFC class. Although the team still faces several significant injuries at key positions, future Hall of Famer Tom Brady continues to play the quarterback position better than ever and tight end Rob Gronkowski — when healthy — remains a one man wrecking crew. As the defending Super Bowl champs keep making quick work of most of their opponents, you’ll be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn’t believe that the Patriots will lift the Lombardi Trophy for the second consecutive season at Super Bowl 50.
